A proposal to install new signs at the McDonald's in Fullbridge will be debated by Maldon district councillors tomorrow (Thursday, 30 September), after the application was deferred in July to be heard by committee members.

The plans, which have been submitted to the district council, involve the installation of five digital freestanding signs and a 15 inch digital booth screen at the fast food restaurant on Fullbridge Road.

District council planning officers have recommended that advertisement consent be granted for the installation of the signs, on the basis that they are "acceptable in terms of style, design, siting and materials, and would not have a detrimental impact upon the character and appearance of the area".

They said that the signage would not be "detrimental to highway safety".

Officers added: "The proposed development would not increase the number of fascia signs, but they will be slightly larger than the existing signage and repositioned on the building."

The district planning committee will vote on the application at its meeting tomorrow evening.
