You can visit this stunning Maldon Garden today (May 14), as part of the National Garden Scheme.

The garden, named 'Old Timbers' and located on Church Street, will be open from 11 am to 4.30 pm on Friday, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the beautiful wildlife.

The large walled garden, set in the foreground of the spire of St Mary's Church, is described as having a historic, summery atmosphere.

Features include raised vegetable beds, lawns, wisteria, a rose-clad pergola, a pond, several colour-themed beds and a herbaceous border.

There is also a pretty summerhouse, alongside a working area with a shed and a greenhouse.

These stunning features can be admired from several seated areas around the garden.

The National Garden Scheme (NGS) aims to encourage donations to charity by offering garden owners the opportunity to display their gardens to visitors, all across the country.

'Old Timbers' is the only garden currently listed on the NGS website, with nearby gardens including 'The Garden Studio' in Chelmsford and 'Walnut Tree Cottage' in Dunmow.

Admission to the garden for adults is £5, with children going free.

Money raised goes to nursing and healthcare charities.

If you miss it today, the garden will be opening again on Friday, August 16.

You can book a place on the National Garden Scheme website, here.
