Table salt sold at Home Bargains recalled over plastic contamination fears
Home Bargains is recalling 750-gram drums of Dri Pak Table Salt over fears they may contain small pieces of plastic.
People have been urged to check their cupboards for the product. Two batches are affected, with the code 3205 or 3206. The four-digit batch number is written on the side of the salt drum.
In a statement, the Food Standards Agency said: "The possible presence of plastic makes this product unsafe to eat."
Anybody who has bought the product is urged to return it to the place of purchase or contact Dri Pak directly for a full refund.
Point of sale notices will be displayed in all Home Bargains stores that sell the product. They explain why the product is being recalled and what to do if customers have bought the product.
Notices will be displayed until August 22.
