The town is blooming thanks to how community volunteers are caring for Maldon's open spaces

Spring has arrived in Maldon's neighbourhood and community gardens, with plenty of cheery daffodils and other flowers to greet passers-by - all thanks to the efforts of playgroup children, neighbours, volunteers and community groups.

A spokesperson for the town's RHS volunteers said: "We would welcome walkers coming to see and enjoy their community gardens.

"The Friary Playschool have planted some spring posters in the Longfield open space in Maldon for visitors to enjoy.

The spring bulbs and plants were donated by Maldon Rotary Club.

There are spring flowers on show, too, Marlow Close, in a dsiplay which has been created and is sponsored by the neighbours.

And the community space at Browning Road, Maldon, is also looking cheery. It's cared for by neighbours and is sponsored by the local community and a local U3A group.
