MALDON Town Council is delighted to announce the return of Light Up Maldon on Thursday, 27 November 2025, from 5pm to 9pm when the High Street will come alive with dazzling lights and festive fun.

Building on the success of last year, Light Up Maldon 2025 promises an unforgettable evening for the entire community, showcasing the very best of our wonderful town. The highlight of the evening will be the much-anticipated Christmas Lights Switch-On at 6pm, with the Town Mayor and special guests officially illuminating Maldon for the festive season with brand new lights!

Throughout the evening, you can expect:

• Bustling Street Stalls: Explore a fantastic array of market stalls lining the High Street, offering unique gifts, local wares, and delicious hot food and beverages.
• Charming Indoor Craft Markets: Discover even more treasures inside the Town Hall, All Saints Church, The Maeldune Centre, and Moot Hall, where talented local artisans will be showcasing their handcrafted goods and festive decorations.
• Enchanting Entertainment: Enjoy a vibrant programme of local performers filling the air with festive cheer. Look forward to carols from local groups, musical performances, visits from well-known characters and captivating displays that will get you into the Christmas spirit.
• Main Stage: Headline acts include Mars Garden from 7pm-7.45pm (hits from 60s bands such as The Beatles, Rolling Stones and more), and Adrian Warwick from 7.50pm-8.40pm ('Celebrating Take That, Barlow & Williams' and tributes to Neil Diamond, the Jersey Boys, and others). Full entertainment schedule available in due course. 
• Santa's Grotto: A traditional Santa's Grotto will be making a welcome return to Brights Solicitors, providing a magical experience for the little ones (see details below).
• Support Local: We encourage you to support our incredible local businesses, many of whom will be extending their presence with stalls outside their premises, alongside opportunities for other local traders, community groups, and local charities.

Parking will be available in local car parks, with free parking from 4pm at Promenade Park, White Horse Lane, and Butt Lane Car Parks.

Santa's Grotto will be open from 4pm to 8pm inside Bright & Sons Solicitors at West House, West Square, Maldon, Essex, CM9 6HA.

Registration opens on Monday, 10 November at 10am. One ticket per child is required. Online bookings only. Get an update on when booking is available here.

Book a free slot to visit Santa and his elves in his cosy grotto. Each child will receive a special gift from Santa himself.

On the day, please arrive promptly at your booked time to ensure a smooth experience for all guests. Santa is looking forward to meeting you!
