Trapped driver and injured passenger rescued by fire crews following Maldon Road collision

Emergency services were called to a collision on Maldon Road/B1019 in Hatfield Peverel at around 12.45pm on Friday (October 13).

Firefighters rescued two people following the collision, including a driver who was trapped in their vehicle.

A spokesperson for Essex County Fire & Rescue service told Nub News: "On arrival, firefighters reported that one person was trapped in their car, and another was injured.

"Firefighters worked to release the trapped casualty and left both people in the care of the Ambulance Service by 13.35pm.

Police, fire, and ambulance services were at the scene, turning motorists away. However, the road was said to be clear by 3.30pm.

A spokesperson for Essex Police confirmed no arrests were made but declined to comment further.
