The Present Status and Future of the River Chelmer & the Blackwater Estuary, at Maldon Town Hall: Friday July 15, at 7pm

  • The public meeting will feature a discussion panel and presentation on the future of the River Chelmer and Blackwater Estuary.
  • Panellists include Dr Robin Price, Director of Quality and Environment at Anglian Water, Maldon's MP John Whittingdale, and environmental campaigner Feargal Sharkey - former lead singer of the Undertones.

Heybridge Basin Regatta 2022: Saturday July 16, from 10am

  • The Regatta returns in association with Row4aReason, an annual charity event.
  • The 'fun family day' will include watersports events, live music, a Punch & Judy show, and a variety of unique stalls.
  • There will also be a 'rousing' performance from the Hoy Shanty Crew, singing "all the favourite songs of the sea".

Burnham Pride, hosted by the Victoria Inn, Burnham on Crouch: Saturday July 16, from 2pm

  • The town's first ever Pride event will be hosted by local DJ Prucey B, who has played at several Pride events throughout Essex, appearing on the main stage at Essex Pride for four years in a row.
  • Festivities will include Drag Acts Saffron Slayter and Chamonix Aspen, along with 'The Disney Guy', Matthew Haslam-Hammond, who will provide unique renditions of Disney songs.

Open Day at Maldon Community Pre-School: Saturday July 16, from 2pm

  • Visit this thriving community pre-school in the heart of Maldon which has supported and educated young children for 50 years.

Splash Kayaking at Promenade Park, Maldon: Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 July, from 12pm

  • This is a hire session, and the operator does not provide instruction, however their staff team will supervise the session and be on hand at all times to answer questions to ensure you get on and off the water safely.
  • Hire sessions include all equipment, however you WILL get wet so please bring a change of clothes and shoes.
  • Kayak hire is open to all 5 years and over.
  • Due to the unpredictability of the great British weather we do recommend inexperienced kayakers share a double with someone experienced or an adult for their first time.
  • A range of single, double or junior kayaks are available.

Food for Floods Charity Meal at Sark Restaurant, Maldon High St: Sunday 17 July, 12pm-4pm

  • The owners of two award-winning restaurants in Maldon High Street have announced they are partnering up to raise funds for the victims of 'record-breaking' floods in Bangladesh
  • Chefs from Sark and Maldon Spice will collaborate to offer a unique menu, which organisers say will "tantalise the taste buds of everyone".
  • There is a set price of £15 for each meal, and drinks will be available to purchase separately.
  • All monies collected will go directly to supporting the victims of the floods in Bangladesh.
  • Space is limited, so those wishing to attend have been asked to book as early as possible to secure a table.
