Maldon Fire Station Open Day: Sunday 4 September, 10am-4pm

Organisers hope to provide residents with the opportunity to see how the station works, get up close to the three appliances (fire engines) based in Maldon, and to demonstrate some of the tools and equipment the fire service uses.

Firefighter Chris Kirby said: "We are hoping it will give our team the chance to raise the profile of the station.

"As an On-Call station, meaning that all the firefighters there have full time employment outside Essex Fire Service, employment opportunities exist to residents in Maldon who live within a five-minute response time radius of the station."

There will activities and demonstrations throughout the day, such as 'dunk the firefighter', a tombola, and arts & crafts for younger guests.

The event is open to all, with no entry fee.
