From a charity opera evening to a Halloween party, we have put together a round-up of unmissable events happening in Maldon this weekend.

1. Take part in spooky cash bingo

Head down to Plantation Hall, on Colchester Road in Heybridge, for a special cash bingo session this Halloween Friday (29 October).

There will be all the lingo on the night, where you will also be able to enjoy Halloween punch and spooky treats.

You can buy tickets from 7.30pm on the door, with the first game - out of eight - beginning at 8pm.

2. Join the mayor for his charity opera evening

The town mayor, Councillor David Ogg, is holding a charity opera evening this Saturday (30 October).

The night will take place at Maldon Town Hall, on Market Hill, where Katie Bingham-Best and Stephen Foster-Pilkington will sing popular arias for guests.

Tickets cost £25 per person, and you will be raising money for the mayor's two chosen charities - The Sea-Change Sailing Trust and Churches Together.

Doors will open at 6.45pm for a 7pm start.

3. Celebrate Halloween at Serendipity Gift and Tea Shop

On Sunday (31 October), Serendipity Gift and Tea Shop is holding a special Halloween party for all ages.

There will be a disco, games, fancy dress competition, glitter tattoos, prizes, buffet and party bag for children to enjoy at £10 per child.

Adults can have a mini afternoon tea - which will include a selection of sandwiches, cream tea, cake and unlimited tea or filter coffee - while the children party away.

Tickets for adults cost £9 each.

The party will take place from 12pm to 3pm at the tea room, which can be found at 106 High Street in Maldon - simply buy your ticket at the shop.
