• U3A Aviation Club, Woodham Mortimer

The Maldon and District U3A Aviation Club will be opening their 2025 season on Friday with the film Murphy's War. Starring Peter O'Toole as a lowly air mechanic who learns to fly, the film follows him in taking his personal quest for revenge on the U Boat and its crew who sank his ship and killed his comrades off South America during the latter part of WW2.Although aviation is the central theme to this film, there is something for everyone to see with Peter O'Toole at his fabulous hell-raising best! Head to the meeting at Woodham Mortimer Village Hall at 11.00, with doors open at 10:30 for coffee, biscuits, and gossip.

Saturday

• Vegan Market, Chelmsford

The Chelmsford Vegan Market will be taking over the Bowl at Bond Street once again this Saturday. The event will bring together a selection of vegan street food vendors, artisan bakers, craft brewers, ethical jewellers, local artists and environmental charities. Traders will be there from 10:30am until 4pm.

• Antiques Fair, Maldon

Dealers and collectors from around the region will be at Blackwater Leisure Centre on Sunday for the indoor vintage and antiques fair. Admission is £2 from 10am-3pm, with early entry from 9am for just £2.50. Don't miss the wide selection of fascinating items.
