This Saturday, Maldon's Promenade Park will host world-famous artists for a 'fabulous' one-day extravaganza.

Musical superstars The Jacksons and Wet Wet Wet will perform live as part of seven hours of music and entertainment.

They will be supported by ABBA tribute 'Bjorn Again', Mis-Teeq's Sabrina Washington, X Factor winner Matt Cardle, and ITV's 'Star Struck' finalist Rob Lea, who will perform with his Queen tribute band 'Majesty'.

Funky Voices, a 70-strong choir who recently performed with Erasure, will kick off proceedings.

The Jacksons recently celebrated 50 years as one of the most successful groups in music history.

They found international success at Motown in 1969. Their first single 'I Want You Back' reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their next three singles, 'ABC', 'The Love You Save' and 'I'll Be There' followed suit.

In a statement, the band said: "We're looking forward to Fantasia in Maldon and performing all our hits, including 'I want you back', 'ABC', 'I'll Be There', and 'Can You Feel It'.

"Don't meet us there, beat us there!"

Wet Wet Wet boasts 27 Top 40 hit singles, including three No. 1's. The band's 1994 smash hit 'Love Is All Around' spent 15 weeks on the top spot.

The one-day festival will conclude with a 'spectacular' fireworks finale organised by a Chelmsford-based company, 'Fireworks Crazy'.

Food will be available throughout the day, along with independent business stalls, fun fair rides, and bars serving beer, wine, cocktails and soft drinks.

Organisers Steve Cochrane and Sean McLoughlin said: "We brought back Fantasia for the people of Maldon and beyond to enjoy a fabulous day listening to and watching exciting artists from the UK and around the world, creating opportunities for local business and freelance staff.

"There's nothing like this running in the area - global acts in your local park!"

Gates open at 3pm. To purchase tickets, visit the website.
