Fambridge Road, Maldon, will be closed to traffic for six nights from next Friday (August 11) amid ongoing works on the road.

It is set to be closed overnight for inlay surfacing, from 8pm to 5am until August 18. Essex Highways says a clearway will be in force "all the time", so no stopping is allowed.

The road will be closed from the mini roundabout at West Square to Volwycke Avenue. Residents have been warned not to park on the road between 8pm and 6am, or risk having their vehicles towed.

Two-way traffic lights will be in place from August 14 to 15, as carriageway resurfacing is due to take place. Delays are likely, Essex Highways has said.

Further works are set to be carried out on Fambridge Road between Fambridge Close and Wallace Binder Road. Openreach will install two-way traffic lights while carrying out "utility asset works" on August 12 and 13. The company has warned delays are possible. An alternative pedestrian footpath will also be provided.

Ongoing roadworks in Heybridge have led to some disruption in Maldon over the last week. However, the works on Maypole Road, Langford Road and Holloway Road are expected to last until August 13.
