A man who died following a serious collision in Foxhall Road, Steeple, last month has been named publicly at an inquest.

Callum Murray, 37, from St Lawrence, was killed in a single-vehicle collision on July 23. At around 4.30pm, his silver BMW reportedly left the road and crashed into a tree.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, Mr Murray was pronounced dead at the scene.

Coroner Michelle Brown confirmed a post-mortem examination determined his provisional cause of death was as a result of traumatic head injuries he suffered.

It has been reported a hospital post-mortem and toxicology have been taken and police are not looking for any prosecution in this case.

A second man, a passenger in the vehicle, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following the crash. Foxhall Road was closed while officers carried out investigative enquiries and it was reopened after six hours.

There is likely to be a documentary inquest, meaning the coroner will examine the evidence on paper, so no witnesses are needed.

However, a date for the inquest cannot be fixed until until the toxicology reports are returned, which the Coroner said could take several months.
