There is a snowy Saturday and Sunday in sight for Maldon with the Met Office issuing a Yellow weather warning for the weekend.

The Yellow warning is in place from 12:00 GMT on Saturday, January 4 to 9:00 GMT Monday, January 6, and covers almost all of England and Wales.

The Met Office say to expect some disruption caused by heavy snow over the weekend.

Affected areas should expect a small chance of power cuts and mobile phone coverage outages, as well as travel delays.

Parts of the Midlands, Wales and northern England are most at risk of disruption, where 5cm or more of snow could accumulate. Whereas in southern and central areas, snow may be short-lived or quickly turn to ice.

People are advised to amend travel plans and take care driving while staying up to date with the weather forecast for your area.
