Maldon's popular splash pad is set to open for the first time this year on Saturday (May 25), as Promenade Park heats up for a busy Summer.

The aqua play area is opening Saturday, May 25 until Sunday, June 2, before briefly closing for ten days and reopening for Summer.

The popular children's activity, located in the central 'Valley' of Maldon Promenade Park alongside the 'Galleon' play equipment, is set to be open from 10 am to 4.30 pm over the half-term.

On their website, Places Leisure, who operate the Splash Park, said: "Boasting a fantastic selection of interactive and accessible play equipment, and a brand new surface, Maldon Splash Park is the perfect summer destination for all the family."

Those wishing to use the splash park must sign up for a free Places Leisure membership, and pre-book a 30-minute slot.

Prices from £3.50 for an Adult & Junior Under 8.

Last year, the park opened full time from July 22 until September 3, before opening for a final day, September 10, following a heatwave.

It is an extremely popular attraction, with its relaunch last year proving successful with local families.
