Christmas trees will be available to buy from Maldon Young Farmers next weekend, in efforts to spread festive cheer while raising money for charity.

The group will be selling the Christmas trees from 9am next Sunday (12 December) at Essex Motor Factors, on Fullbridge in Maldon, to raise money for Crohn's and Colitis UK.

Members are hoping to repeat the success of their fireworks display last month, which raised a record-breaking £1,300 for the charity to support those living with Crohn's and ulcerative colitis - after more residents than ever came to the event.

The group, which provides members passionate about agriculture or rural life with social, educational, fundraising and travel opportunities, has raised money for charity for many years.

Last year, members raised £1,240 for mental health charity Mind through their Christmas tree sales.

A range of Christmas trees will be on offer at this year's event - with trees ranging from four foot to eight foot tall.

The prices for the trees are as follows:

  • 4ft: £30
  • 5ft: £35
  • 6ft: £40
  • 7ft: £45
  • 8ft: £50

The group can also deliver trees to homes in Maldon if arranged in advance - this can be organised by contacting the Maldon Young Farmers Facebook page here.
