More pictures of new Maldon Prom skatepark as plans submitted to council

Bendcrete Skateparks has sought permission from the council on its plans for a replacement skatepark at Promenade Park.
The design includes a variety of features for all skill levels, and will be suitable for use by BMX bikes, skateboards, scooters and skaters. The footprint of the park is set to be double the current skatepark, and sit in the same space alongside the car park.
Several seating area options have also been proposed, including sheltered huts and sociable circular seating. There will also be seven LED lighting columns operated by sensors to support dusk skating.

The application follows a lengthy consultation process by Maldon District Council earlier this year, as well as several meetings with local skatepark users.
The Design and Access Statement from Bendcrete Skatepark says: "There is strong local demand for a new skatepark, which will replace the current steel skatepark.
"The project has complete backing from Maldon District Council, the local community and there already exists a strong, local skating community."

Construction has recently been completed on a new skatepark at West Maldon Community Centre, with construction on another in Riverside Park in Burnham-on-Crouch currently underway.
The statement adds: "The installation of a well designed and constructed skatepark will offer an inclusive facility to a multi generational community.

"A skatepark offers a safe environment for users to learn not only physical skills, but an opportunity to develop life-long friendships, communication skills, and social skills."
Subject to planning permission, the installation of the Promenade Park skatepark will follow the completion of the one at Riverside.
