A planning application for a new 76-place nursery day school on the Wycke Hill development has been approved this week.

'Seymour House Early Education' will offer six nursery rooms, a kitchen, a laundry room, a training room, and an office.

There will also be an external garden area, complete with a vegetable patch and plenty of space for children to play.

Design plans illustrate that the nursery will have a modern look, with white brickwork, white render and light-oak timber effect cladding.

The nursery school accompanies an already approved application for a 1000-home development by Crest Nicholson, on land south of Wycke Hill and Limebrook Way in Maldon.

The development is set to offer a primary school, two early years and childcare facilities, general amenity areas and formal open space including allotments and sports playing fields.

In May 2023, plans were approved to build a 400-pupil primary school and nursery at the site.
