The programme for the 2022/23 season continues until 24 May 2023.

Maldon Film Club's 18th season continued in November with the screening of Babyteeth, Compartment No 6 and Ammonite.

The next film to be shown is the Oscar-winning Another Round.

It will be screened on December 13 at Maldon Town Hall, and is described as a "fun, touching and thought-provoking" drama about friendship, freedom, and alcohol.

The film tells the story of Martin, Tommy and Peter, a close-knit group of friends, colleagues, and high school teachers. They are facing stale careers, failing marriages and the cruel certainty of lost youth.

That changes once they are inspired by a theory that people are more relaxed, poised and self-confident when they maintain a consistent 0.05% blood alcohol concentration. The friends set rules and, together, start observing the effects of the intoxicating social experiment.

After a short break, Maldon Film Club will return in 2023.

The first two films to be screened are Rams, on Wednesday 4 January followed by the award-winning La Belle Epoque on Wednesday 18 January.

This season's programme continues until May 24 2023, and the films to be screened from February onwards are as follows:

  • February 1 – Nomadland
  • February 15 – Minari
  • March 1 – Promising Young Woman
  • March 15 – Parallel Mothers
  • March 29 – Belfast
  • April 12 – The Worst Person in the World
  • April 26 – Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
  • May 14 – The Father
  • May 25 – Drive My Car

The price of an annual subscription is £25. For further details and an application form, visit the Maldon Film Club website, the Visitor Information Centre (11am to 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday) or text John Salisbury on 07905 971 608.

John said: "Why not join now and enjoy the remaining 13 films for free! I look forward to seeing you very soon.

"On behalf of everyone associated with Maldon Film Club, may I take this opportunity to send you all my best wishes for the festive season and for the year ahead."
