Thursday 27 April
Witham Amateur Operatics Society presents: Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein, at Witham Public Hall - until Saturday 29 April
Witham Amateur Operatics Society (WAOS) presents the hilarious and marginally risqué parody of Broadway/West End musicals, Young Frankenstein, written by the inimitable Mel Brooks.
Raised Stalls £18, Front Stalls £15, Balcony £14. Note: there is a 50p per ticket booking fee.
Concessions tickets at £12 plus 50p booking fee are offered for the Saturday matinee performance for Front Stalls and Balcony seats for Senior Citizens (65 and over), Registered Disabled and Under 21s (16-21s must be in full time education).
Friday 28 April
Intro to Jump Rope for Adults at Blackwater Leisure Centre, Maldon - from 6pm
Learn all the skills you need to get started on your jump rope journey. Get fit, learn new skills, improve coordination and, above all, have fun!
Five sessions for £50 - starting this Friday. Booking is essential.
Every new member will receive a free beaded rope from Jump Rope Coach Chris, worth £20.
Craft & Design Show at RHS Garden Hyde Hall, Chelmsford - until Monday 1 May
A fantastic opportunity to buy from a wonderful selection of handcrafted products designed and created by some of the UK's most talented artists, craftsmen and women. Work includes artwork and sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, leather-ware, clothing and textiles, glassware, woodwork and metalwork as well as some amazing speciality foods.
Opens from 10am until 5pm each day. RHS entrance fee applies - free for RHS members. Plenty of free parking available.
Saturday 29 April
The George Harrison Project at Maldon Town Hall, from 7.30pm
The UK's leading live music tribute to George Harrison, performing his best-loved hits from the Beatles, his solo career and The Traveling Wilburys.
Doors open at 6.45pm, and the show starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £18.
Tollesbury Sailing Club Casino Night - from 7pm
Try your luck at the Blackjack and Roulette tables.
Doors open at 7pm with tables open from 8pm. Tickets cost £10 and include gambling chips.
Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Sunday 30 April
Great Dunmow Soapbox Race 2023 - from 11am
The fourth Great Dunmow Soapbox Race is coming to town and it's sure to be an unforgettable event.
Sixty teams will go head-to-head for the title of champion with plenty at stake - even some heart-stopping jumps and thrilling near misses. All while supporting incredible causes as it has raised over £65,000 since its inception four years ago.
With over 40,000 people having attended our event from all over Europe – expect a day full of racing action mixed with music, drinks and family fun too.
Entry costs £2 per person, at the gate on Braintree Road, Great Dunmow.
Vintage & Antique Open Air Market at the Museum of Power, Langford - from 9am
Find stalls selling antique and vintage items including, jewellery, silver, coins, vintage fashion, handbags, furniture, sculpture, garden ornaments, household effects, curios, art, collectables, ceramics and much more.
There will be a vintage style café and food stands.
Entry costs £3 for adults - children go free. No advance booking required.
Parking is free. Dogs are welcome, on a short lead.
Farmers Market at The Bell Inn, Tolleshunt Major - from 9am
Homemade, handmade and home-grown produce, with a chance to meet the people behind it.
Come along to buy dinner and enjoy breakfast from the BBQ Shack with a hot cup of tea or coffee.
Breakfast baps are served from 9am until 11am, and the pub bar opens from 11am.
Burnham-On-Crouch Craft Fayre at Bistro On The Quay - from 10am
Browse an array of local craft sellers, to pick something special up for yourself or a friend.
Traders include Crochet by Chloe, Trinkets of the Moon, Veilentine, and many more.
Dogs are welcome.
