Heybridge Swifts lifted the Tolleshunt D'Arcy Memorial Cup with a comfortable 5-0 victory against Wivenhoe Town this evening (Wednesday, 5 April).
Swifts hosted the final at Scraley Road and took a sixth minute lead when Lee Noble picked out KieranJones in space and his strike into the box was knocked into his own goal by Wivenhoe defender Ryan Culleton.
Jones and Mikey Faulkner were then denied by Town keeper Lewis Hanley but Swifts doubled the lead on 16 minutes when Sam Park picked his way through the Wivenhoe defence and found Jones, who put it on a plate for Rhys Henry to tap it in.
And the game was effectively won by half time when Tyler Brampton scored his first for the club on 32 minutes with an impressive left foot finish from the edge of the box.
A penalty converted by Jones on 52 minutes ended any hopes of a Wivenhoe revival and though they battled hard to the end, it was no surprise when Ben Sartain smashed home a fifth on 72 minutes.
