Maldon Town Councillor, Michael Pearlman, has expressed his gratitude to the thousands of people who visited the town's Christmas Fayre last month, despite 'torrential' rain.

This was Cllr Pearlman's seventh year as Chairman of the annual event.

He told Nub News: "The feedback from the event has been amazing.

"Despite the torrential rain, thousands of people still braved the weather.

"I am not sure the exact amount of people who visited, but I would say between five and seven thousand.

"I would like to give a big thanks to all the sponsors, Maldon Town Council, Bright's & Sons Solicitors - who hosted Santa's grotto – and all the members of the Christmas Fayre working group."

Speaking to Nub News about the event in September, Cllr Pearlman said it was a 'pleasure' to run, thanks to the enthusiastic response from local businesses and organisations.

Visitors enjoyed a selection of live music outside All Saints Church.
