Motorcyclist taken to hospital following collision in Maldon

A motorcyclist has been taken to Broomfield Hospital following a collision near Morrisons in Limebrook Way, Maldon, this morning.

Eyewitnesses said the road was closed while police and ambulance crews attended the scene at the junction of Fambridge Road and the B1018.

Members of the public stopped their vehicles to help an injured man before the ambulance arrived. The road reopened shortly afterwards.

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service confirmed: "One ambulance was called to the junction of Fambridge Road and the B1018 near Maldon this morning following reports of a motorcyclist injured in a road traffic collision.

"One man was transported to Broomfield Hospital for further assessment and care."
