Essex Police is appealing for the public's help to identify a man in connection with a car theft at St Peter's Hospital, Maldon, earlier this month.

Officers were called to St Peter's Hospital in Spital Road on 6 March, following reports that a car had been stolen from the car park.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Essex Police said: "The victim returned to find their Silver Ford Focus had gone and their keys had been stolen from their pocket.

"We are appealing for the public's help to identify this man in connection with this investigation. If you know who he is or have any further information, please contact us."

Members of the public can submit a report via the Essex Police website or through the online Live Chat service, available from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) between 10am and 9pm.

Alternatively, call Essex Police on 101, or dial 999 in an emergency.

To make an anonymous report, contact independent charity Crimestoppers UK via their website or call 0800 555 111.

The spokesperson added: "Please quote incident 701 of 6 March when providing any information to make sure it gets to the right person as quickly as possible."
