Police discovered a significant number of cannabis plants, filling multiple rooms, at a property in Tillingham.

The discovery was made after the Maldon Town Team and Maldon Community Policing Team gained access to the address during a search yesterday morning (October 1).

Using a 'Halligan bar' and a battering ram, officers quickly broke down the front door and entered the property.

The search revealed a significant amount of cannabis plants, with multiple rooms having been converted into 'growing rooms'.

One individual was detained inside the address.

Sergeant Dalby of the Maldon Town Team said: "The team have once again executed a search warrant which is a positive result.

"I am in danger of repeating myself but if you are drug dealing or producing drugs, my team who are experts in acquiring and executing search warrants, will find you, you will be arrested and we will use the full force of law to hold you accountable.

"I would encourage anyone with information about drug dealing or production to report it online at our website or via crime stoppers"

This is one of a number of successful search warrants the Maldon Town Police Team have carried out in the last month, with properties in Burnham-on-Crouch and Maldon targeted in just the last two weeks.
