Swifts came from behind to triumph in today's (Saturday, 24 September) FA Trophy second qualifying round clash at the Aspen Waite Arena.

The visitors from the Isthmian South Central Division made a good start with Jonathan Hood producing a goal from distance on 15 minutes.

It took Swifts till the last minute of the first half to draw level when Ross Wall headed home after getting on the end of Harrison Sodje's cross.

The sides were well matched but what ultimately proved to be the deciding goal finally arrived on 78 minutes when Andy Fennell found space in the box and smashed the ball through the hands of keeper Matt Kerbey.

And having established a lead, Swifts kept a tight grip on it, managing the closing minutes well and not letting the visitors get a sight of an equaliser.

Despite taking the lead and holding it until late in the match, Maldon & Tiptree once again tasted defeat in the Isthmian North and remain at the foot of the table after six successive league matches since the start of the season without a win.

Brad Ihionvien gave the Jammers the lead at The arena after 14 minutes but later missed a crucial penalty. It took the hosts until the 67th minute to gain parity when Matt Price scored.

And he then struck again six minutes later, with Tom Richardson sealing maldon's fate with an 86th minute penalty.
