Hexwired have partnered with an exciting electronics manufacturer in Maldon who are looking to add a power electronics engineer to their R&D team. They are looking for electronics engineer with good experience with power electronics, as well analogue and digital circuit design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop circuits and subsystems to meet specifications, ensuring a reliable, cost-effective product.
  • Resolve technical issues swiftly across development, production, and in-service phases.
  • Verify designs through simulation, testing, and relevant environmental assessments.
  • Integrate regulatory, safety, and environmental standards into designs.
  • Implement design changes post-launch due to improvements, obsolescence, or new regulations.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in power electronics design:
    • Switching PSU and PCB design
    • MILSPEC digital and analog high-frequency circuit design
    • Transformer and high-frequency magnetic component expertise
    • High voltage experience (3-10kV, 500W-2kW)
  • Knowledge in reliability design, MTBF in electronics
  • Familiarity with encapsulation for harsh environments
  • Skilled in failure mode analysis (e.g., DfMEA, FMECA)
  • Competent in schematic capture, PCB layout, and design tools
