Location: Nursing Home, Maldon

Position: Chef Hourly Rate: 14- 15 per hour Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Male Chef to join our client's team at our nursing home in Maldon. You will lead the kitchen team, including two kitchen assistants, and be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for 30 people daily, including 24 residents and staff. Your role will be vital in ensuring our residents enjoy nutritious, delicious, and well-presented meals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the kitchen team, including two kitchen assistants responsible for washing and cleaning (shifts: 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM & 4:30 PM - 7:00 PM).
• Prepare and cook meals for 30 people daily, including 24 residents and staff.
• Develop and implement nutritious and varied menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of the residents.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Oversee inventory management, including ordering and stock control.
• Ensure the kitchen and all food preparation areas are clean and tidy.
• Collaborate with the care team to accommodate individual dietary requirements.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a chef, preferably in a healthcare or residential setting.
• Ability to lead and manage a small kitchen team effectively.
• Strong culinary skills with a passion for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals.
• Knowledge of dietary needs and restrictions commonly found in a residential care setting.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Understanding and adherence to health and safety regulations.
• Male chef preferred for this role.
