THE group which buys NHS services for Maldon district - from GPs through to hospitals - has received a 'good' rating from the regulator.

Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) along with the four other CCGs in the Mid and South Essex area – was given the rating by NHS England on Wednesday, 25 November.

The assessment of CCGs' performance is a legal requirement for NHS England and NHS Improvement to undertake each year.

As in previous years, the annual assessment for 2019/20 provides each CCG with a headline rating against the indicators in the NHS Oversight Framework.

Anthony McKeever is Executive Lead for the Mid and South Essex Health and Care Partnership and Joint Accountable Officer for its five CCGs.

Mr McKeever said: "This is good news and testament to the hard work of everyone who works in the CCG and its member CCG practices. I'd like to thank them and our partners for their support in helping achieve these ratings as a partnership.

"We will continue to strive to do what's best for our residents in these challenging times.

"We're always aiming to provide access to good health and social care locally and we work closely with our partners

to achieve this."

The 2019/20 annual assessment report is available on the Commissioning Regulation pages of
