New manager, same result!
The Jammers travelled to Felixstowe more in hope of gaining a first point of the season than expectation and it was perhaps too much to ask of new manager Adam Flint to turn things around immediately following his appointment in the wake of the dismissal of Paul Abrahams.
And so it proved, though at least the visitors had the last word in the match when Jake Giddings scored after 73 minutes.
By then, though, the match had been put to bed by Felixstowe who opened the scoring on 16 minutes through Joshua Hitter. Billy Holland added a second on the stroke of half time and a Joe Whight penalty on 66 minutes rounded off the home scoring and sent his side to second place in the Isthmian North table.
The two goal margin of defeat was enough to put the Jammers right to the bottom of the table underneath Gorleston, who have also to pick up a point. The sides share the same goal difference but Maldon have scored three goals less, just four in the league this season, meaning the only way is up now for Flint and his assisant James Robinson.
