Burnham Art Trail is in full swing and continues until 5pm Sunday 26th June. Check out the Museum Hub with four featured artists, 'taster' wall, unframed work to buy plus the famous 'Secret Postcards'. 40 artists in 32 venues, pick up a guide and wander round.
Visit the many Open Studios dotted around Burnham, make a day of it and enjoy a light lunch or cream tea at Jean Webber's studio (also with Anne Hendry's jewellery) at 12 Ramblers Way. Or visit Creeksea and see Roger Barcroft's paintings and Carole Pointers ceramics at the School House before visiting the Parlour cafe for a meal and seeing Malcolm Browns atmospheric photographs in the nearby Canary Shed.
Other Studios include Jenny Newmans vibrant abstracts at 9 Winstree Road, Iona Hawkins textiles at 18 Devonshire Road, Kevin Harber at 14 Marsh Road, John Green at 13 Park Road, Jim Bradshaw at4 Witney Road and Frances Franklin at 4 Fernlea Road, Frances has a garden studio and will be hosting a spoken word event on Saturday in the garden between 2.30and 4.30 pm.
Sunday we have the second Art on the Quay event from 11am to 5pm. Lots of artists working, and selling their work, Charlie Bran making Roman Ink, Cow Pat Pots - have a go at making your own ceramics plus lots of artists. We also have live music 'The Craic Heads' with lively Irish music from noon to 2pm followed by 'Meg and friends' with vintage acoustic instruments from 2 to 4pm.
Art on the Quay EXTRA is at the Studio Belvedere Road from noon to 4pm free but must pre book contact [email protected] 'Drawing for the terrified', 'Knitting for beginnings' and 'Mixed media' plus exhibition and free books.
Plenty to see and do, the forecast is good for the weekend - enjoy something a bit different!
