Maldon District Council will offer "safety, health, and wellbeing advice" at a free event for residents aged 65 and over, at Maldon Stadium next month.

The ticketed 'Senior Safety & Silver Monday' celebration will take place at the Maldon & Tiptree FC stadium in Park Drive, Maldon, on Monday 3 October from 10am.

Registration will be open from 9.45am.

There will be a variety of 'engaging' talks and exhibition stands displaying a range of information, services and support available in Chelmsford and Maldon. It is a public information event paid for by local councils.

Organisers aim to provide guidance for older people on how to keep themselves and their money safe.

The second annual event has been arranged in partnership with several other local organisations, including Chelmsford City Council, Essex Police and Tesco.

Those taking part are set to enjoy a free cold lunch, free refreshments and "a fabulous singer to entertain".

Representatives from Essex County Fire & Rescue Service, Barclays bank and The Dance Network Association are expected to attend.

Members from local group Limebrook u3a will also be attending.

For more information on the event, or to book free tickets, visit the Eventbrite website.
